New Blog Adventures

Hey everyone!! Just a little recap of everything that's been going on since I took on my new last name :) Work is busy as always! We had our Annual end of the year meeting/dinner this past weekend that went well. I received a nice little bonus that was a plus. Everyone now knows we are moving to NC...so now that the cats out of the bag I can talk about it openly!

Speaking of moving--I have been really hard core in the cleaning and packing mode lately! Which is nice since I want to start packing up things here and there as possible so its less to do later and not as much stress doing it all at once. We bought some furniture (since we will be needing it) from Robbie's co-worker for when we move. Along with the new furniture we got a storage unit to keep it all in. We spent last weekend moving some boxes over there so they are out of the way at the house. I still need to go back and repackage some items so they are ready to move but its nice having extra space to move around at home now lol. As I start packing things I plan to move them to the storage unit so they are out of the way and I can continue packing everything else.

Now that its almost April we are down to about 2 months until the big move! As it keeps getting closer and closer its getting more real and I'm starting to get a little sad about leaving. I love it here! After moving to CA back in 2009 I never thought I'd leave. But everything with the military is temporary and I know we'll try to come back out here again when we can.

Married life is going good. I'm loving it! This weekend we will hit our 1 month of being married. We're planning to have a little get away at the place we spent our wedding night at the beach. And this is the perfect weekend to do it too as San Diego is calling for record highs temperature wise this weekend! I'm still in the process of changing name with all my accounts. I have had to do a little hear and there as I can with work. Its been a slow process but it will be all completed before we move which is a major plus.

We still have many exciting adventures to take before moving though. Every weekend is going to be busy for us from here on out! We're going to Stagecoach again this year at the end of April. Beginning at that time Robbie will then take his 21 days of leave from work (a reenlistment bonus he got). While I'll still be working he will get to enjoy some time off--paid. We're planning to have little weekend get away trips every weekend during his 21 days off so we can see and do everything on our lists before moving. We still have 2 days at Disneyland to use on our passes and our Universal Studios passes are still good. I plan to spend more time in LA as well. We'd also like to hike Potato Chip rock in San Diego and we have a couple Vegas trips and concerts lined up before we head out. So it's going to be a very busy last couple of months!

I'm still deciding my final last day of work but plan to take a little time off before we move to visit with friends and finish any last minute things that need done for the move preparation. I'm also starting to get a list together of places to stop and visit along the way as we drive cross country from CA to NC. We plan to make stops to visit out families as well on the way. So much is going on and I feel like there is so little time to do everything I'd like to! But even though I am a little sad with this bittersweet move I am excited for our first adventure as a married couple. And for our first home just us!!

I've been writing and coming up with ideas for scripts a lot more recently as well. Unfortunately, my computer is currently broken (I'm planning to get a new one) but that hasn't stopped me from just writing down my thoughts and ideas. I'm also looking into getting back into acting. I've been missing it for awhile and really want to get back into it. I'm hoping to do a short film with a friend in LA before moving as well as try and get an IMDB page up for me. I plan to continue to try and do acting while in NC with Wilmington being near by and Atlanta now a huge film/TV hub I feel like I still have plenty of acting options while on the East Coast. Entertainment is always going to be a big part of me and who I am. My passion for it has never left. I plan to just take it a day at a time and do what I can with what I have and God will put me where he wants me :)

As I sit back and think about all this blog has been for me I am incredibly blessed! It started off as a way to just keep my friends and family updated as I moved from VA to CA to pursue my dreams of becoming a Television and Film actress. Over the course of the last 6 years so much as happened. There have been so many ups and downs. So many incredible moments and life changing decisions. I went from LA to San Diego and continued my professional working life. While in San Diego I met the love of my life and said "I Do". Now we're preparing to move to from CA to NC to begin our next chapter as newlyweds while Robbie continues to serve our country as a Marine.

I feel like I've come full circle since the beginning. When I started this blog I was just a shy, 19-year-old, positive dreamer, country girl from VA. I've reached for my dream and my dream has changed some along the way. Now as I prepare to move back to the East Coast I'm a more outgoing, 24-year-old but still that same positive, country girl, dreamer. However, one thing has changed, my home. No matter where this journey and all our next adventures take us I think I will always consider California home. And now as we're about to embark on our future I'm wanting to reach for becoming an actress again. So much has happened along the way and shaped me into who I am. I am so incredibly blessed and thankful for all the experiences I've had and so excited for all the ones I have yet to experience! I'm so lucky to have met all the amazing people and to continue to have the best friendships in my life! I'm so grateful to everyone who has helped me, believed in me, supported me and loved me along the way! It never went unnoticed! And now I am so happy to have my amazing husband by my side to go through it all and be with me each step of the way!

Along with this new journey in my life I have decided to create a new blog. It is somewhat of another bittersweet moment to announce. Now that I'm married to a US Marine and we begin our new life together in moving from the West Coast to the East Coast--I've decided to begin our new journey together in a new blog for both of us. As much as my life has been ever changing and documented through this blog I would like to have a place for both of our families to stay up to date with both of our lives. As you may know my husband isn't the biggest social media person lol and with his constant every changing military life I would like to be able to keep all his friends and family (along with mine) updated on what is going on in our life.

With that being said this is my last blog post on here. I love you all and can't wait to keep sharing my life with you through a different blog! My new blog is now: http://marineandwife.blogspot.com/

God bless!
Love,
Stephanie

Single Digits!!

We are officially in the single digits for my wedding countdown! Only 9 more days to go!! I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday we got engaged. I know it has been a short engagement (only about 2 1/2 months total) but still time has been flying by! So many changes have been occurring and are on the horizon the next few months. Work is keeping me busy as ever and I have a couple endeavors I'm looking into while we're still out here in Cali. I'm wanting to get back into writing and acting again. These days I've been so busy I haven't had any time to do much! The next couple months as we prepare to move will be more of the same but once the wedding is complete I'll have a little extra free time. Wedding planning takes up so much time! Lol but I'm not complaining. It has definitely had its stressful moments but also its good.

This past weekend we chilled, took naps, ate dinner at the mall (because I really wanted a chicken philly they have there) and rented a redbox movie (Let's Be Cops) and popped popcorn at home for Valentine's Day. Sunday, my Matron of Honor, Jessica through me a bridal shower and it was so much fun! She went way above and beyond what I was expecting! She had the whole apartment decorated with snacks and we played games. She also got videos from my family, Robbie's family and Robbie to surprise me. It was the best!

Monday for Presidents Day Robbie and I were both off work. We were able to pick up our engagement photos. They look great! I've been in the process of trying to get them all on Facebook so everyone can see them but my computer isn't working currently. Something else that is on my to-do list: get a new laptop lol. After picking up our photos we went out to lunch and then I surprised Robbie with tickets to The Marvel Experience for his birthday (1 day early). The Marvel Experience was set up like a fair and they had games and things set up with all the Marvel superheros. We had a blast and Robbie loved it!

Tuesday was Robbie's big 30th birthday! We both had work but went out to dinner at BJ's afterwards to celebrate. He got a nice steak dinner (I had a burger) and a special birthday dessert called a pizookie. Its is a warm cookie baked and served with ice cream on top and it was delicious! Yesterday was a busy day at work and late day for Robbie.

Now we're just finalizing wedding details and preparing for all our family and friends arrivals next week! We're working on our DJ list to get everything turned into our DJ for the wedding and we're giving the final catering headcount tomorrow. Its all coming together nicely! Beginning on Tuesday of next week my family starts arriving and I can't wait to see everyone! These next 9 days are going to fly by and be so much fun!

The Best Month of the Year

Hey everyone! It's now February!! Aka now the bets month of the year!! Lol. So much has been going on. Work has been keeping me really busy and when I'm not working all my free time is spent with wedding stuff! We're passed the 1 month until the wedding milestone and now that we've officially entered into February things have been CRAZY!! I had been feeling really stressed and overwhelmed with everything for a couple weeks but now that things are all falling into place I'm feeling more relaxed. I'm now down to the point where I have no more free weekends until after the wedding and as of this Saturday we will be down to exactly 3 weeks from the wedding date!

I'm now to the point where I'm just so incredibly excited!! We're really hounding down on RSVPs from people and we only have a little less than a week left to get everyone in so I can submit our guest access list to base. Last week Robbie and I got our marriage license and it made everything seem more real! Friday we meet with our pastor to go over our ceremony plans. Its all just coming together quite nicely!

This weekend we're meeting with our flower place to the bouquets sorted out and taking our engagement photos. I'm also trying to set up a time to meet with a DJ so we can get one booked (the last big thing we have left to do) and we might be going to a bridal bizarre show. Next weekend we have Valentine's Day and my bridal shower. Luckily we're both off work on President's Day so that will give us another day to get things done. Then the 17th is Robbie's birthday! The weekend before the wedding is my friend Jessica's birthday and we have plans all weekend. Then its wedding week and family/friends arriving and doing any last minute details.

It's all going by so fast and it will be here and over and done with before you know it! Then it will be on to our next adventure and moving preparation. We're still waiting for official orders but we did receive some information yesterday that gives us a timeline. We're still figuring everything out with work, our living situation, and just overall plans as we move onto our next adventure. I'm so excited for all that is coming soon and is to come the next few months and just this entire year! So much is happening and I can't wait to just enjoy the ride and see what God has planned for us :)

New Beginnings

Now that it is a new year, I can't help but think about all the exiting things to come! 2015 is right on track to be an even better year than 2014! So far it has started off great. Apart from being sick on actual New Years it has been pretty good. Work has been very busy (as usual) and the next few months are looking to be very busy indeed!

Right now our biggest focus is the wedding! Robbie and I are tying the knot on 2/28/2015 here in San Diego. We had already begun planning before the actual proposal so everything was kind of in the works. We booked the ceremony and reception venues, catering, a photographer and our pastor. I ordered our wedding invites and bridesmaid dresses right before we went to Kansas for Christmas. When we got home the wedding invites were already here waiting for us. I have addressed and mailed half of them this week and we're working on the other half to hopefully get out by next week,

We're working on finalizing our catering menu this week. I also received the bridesmaid dresses this past week! It's all been coming together so well and I am so excited! It still feels really surreal that its almost here! I'm going to be getting my ring re-sized this weekend and we're going to be taking our engagement photos in a couple weeks. I got probably all of our reception center pieces over the holidays, so that's another thing down. This whole month is going to be ordering and finalizing all the remaining details--then hopefully February will be all smooth sailing!

Robbie is being great in this whole process with helping me and I have some great friends who are helping me a lot too! I can't wait for my family to come out here for the wedding and to get to see them all in CA (most of them haven't ever been out here). Its going to be so much fun!

We're still waiting to get Robbie's official orders for moving. When he reenlisted we were told we're going to NC in June. A couple days ago he told me it could be July now. We won't know for sure until we get the official orders. I'm getting anxious to know the date so I can plan everything but like with all things military--you never know. It's always changing! I'm trying to be patient with that.

There are so many exciting things coming up and so soon! I can't wait to marry my best friend and to become his Mrs! I can't wait to have a mini honeymoon--even if we don't go anywhere! I  can't wait to move and settled into our first place together, just us! I can't wait to get a puppy and start our lives together as husband and wife! I'm so excited to see everything God has done with us and in our relationship! And I can't wait to see all that God is going to do in our lives!

To Round Out the Year

Well as you can see from all my posts 2014 has been quite the life changing year! So many good and bad moments but the good far out weighed the bad. Now that its 2015, it's a little weird to look back at 2014 and remember all the wonderful memories made along the way.

2014 started off with me at home visiting my family in Virginia. At the time my boyfriend was deployed and we skyped twice over the course of the night (and 11 hour time difference) to ring in the New Year for both of our time zones together. It was a good time!

Once returning home to San Diego I began looking for a new job as I was about to be laid off at my current job. I found one with a couple weeks to spare and was able to start at my new job the Monday after my old job ended. It was a seamless transition and just what I was hoping for. Since being at my new job I have been trained in so many areas and given a lot of responsibility and I've loved ever minute of it! My job reminds me a lot of my first full time job in VA and I love that. It has also kept me super busy and the majority of days fly by.

March was a month I had been counting down to for some time. Robbie was scheduled to return home from deployment that month. He was in one of the first groups to return home and I couldn't wait! Even though we skyped, texted and spoke over the phone most days--I couldn't wait to finally see him in person again! After some delays and time changes he finally arrived back to the US safely and I was there to pick him up. It was one of the best days of my life! After a couple days off he checked out of work on leave and we began our planned road trip. We traveled to Tombstone, AZ, Four Corners (AZ, CO, UT, NM) and the Grand Canyon. Robbie had a little bout with food poising but he never let it affect our trip. We also had a belated Valentines Day date (my first ever) that was so wonderful!

April brought more changes. As we both got back into regular work schedules after vacation Robbie was moved from his normal shop at work to an office in headquarters. He was miserable for awhile when first starting and missed his out doors work, but I was thankful he had a more consistent  schedule of hour. He was told he would be in the office for a year. Having him there meant he could not deploy or get sent on any dets--he was going to stay in San Diego for at least a year. The last weekend of April we also got to attend Stagecoach. It's a 3-day country music festival I had been wanting to attend since moving to CA but had never gone. It was so much fun! We also tried our hand at scuba diving. Robbie really wanted to give it a try and I agreed but was very hesitant. It wasn't really my thing but Robbie loved it and got certified.

May and June were a lot of working and discussing what the future could hold. Robbie's reenlistment time was coming up--he knew he wanted to reenlist but where and doing what were the questions. We talked about our options and decided together where he would request to get stationed next. It was a little bit of an adjustment for both of us getting used to having Robbie home again, but we spent every minute together that we could. We also made a bucket list of sorts of things we wanted to do since he came back from deployment and we worked on doing those things. We went to many country concerts and started having regular movie date nights.

July was an exciting month for us! Over the 4th we went to Kansas to visit Robbie's family. I had talked to his mom while he was deployed but it was my first time meeting all of them in person and I was pretty nervous. Robbie showed me around his hometown and I got to meet a lot of his friends and family. It was a really good trip and it was really hard for me to leave a couple days before Robbie to come back to work. On the 18th I had my 24th birthday and Robbie surprised me with cake and presents. It was a really good day!

August was another exciting trip for us! This time we traveled to Virginia for my sister's wedding and so Robbie could meet my family. We helped with the wedding decorations and getting everything ready the week before. I was able to take Robbie around my hometown a little bit and visit some friends but we mostly stayed at home with my baby sisters. The wedding was beautiful and such a happy day for everyone involved! Robbie hit it off with my family and they all loved him!

September we adjusted to life as normal back in CA and continued with our country concerts and getting things marked off of our bucket list. I also joined a Military spouse/significant other support page on Facebook as an Admin. I write and post regularly and I love it! I had been thinking about making my own page but then got connected with one that is already up and running and decided to give it a try.

October began the holiday season and brought so much fun! October was our first Halloween together. We dressed up as Zack Morris & Kelly Kapowski from "Saved by the Bell". An idea I had had for awhile and wanted to do. We went to a party over at our friends house and had a blast!

November came with many new adventures as well. On the 5th we had Robbie's USMC Birthday Military Ball. I had always wanted to go and was so happy he was here to take me! It was a little different then I was expecting but overall it was a good time and I was so thankful I knew some other people that were there! We also finally found out that his reenlistment got approved--right in the nick of time as his current contract was set to expire in December. Our long Thanksgiving weekend together we spent in Anaheim. We did some black Friday shopping and went to Disneyland. And it was so much fun!

December brought the biggest and happiest changes of all. It started off with Robbie getting a promotion to Sergeant at work on the 1st. Something he has been working towards for awhile. He was so excited, I was so proud of him, and I was so happy I was able to attend his ceremony and pin him! Robbie was also able to reenlist in the back of an aircraft and although I was bummed I wasn't able to be there--I was so happy for him that he got to do it how he wanted to. On 12/13/2014 Robbie proposed to me at Seaworld! It was completely perfect and the happiest day of my life! For the Christmas holiday we traveled back to Kansas and to Iowa to be with Robbie's family. I got to meet his grandma and more of his relatives. Despite being really cold weather wise, it was a really good trip and much needed vacation. The whole month of December was the absolute best way to end out the old year!

For New Years Eve I was pretty sick and slept most of the night. Robbie woke me up to see the ball drop and for us to share our first kiss of the New Year but then I went right back to sleeping. The whole weekend was pretty non-eventful for Robbie and I. We pretty much slept and watched TV all weekend since we were both sick. But never the less it was still a good time being able to spend the New Year together.

Over this past year I have really enjoyed getting to spend all the holidays with my fiance in person! I know this is a little thing that many take for granted but the fact that he was gone for all of them last year while deployed and knowing that with the military we won't always be together on the holidays--it really means something extra special to me. And I enjoyed soaking up every minute of them all (healthy or sick) with Robbie, together, in person! There is no better way to remember the old year then all the moments we got to be together!

12.13.14

Like every other post before, so much has happened since I last wrote! I have tried to write another post so many times and each time something got in the way. Between work, vacation, the holidays and just normal everyday life--the time has always seemed to get away from me. So I would like to begin this post with back tracking to the day of Saturday, December 13, 2014. The day that changed everything for the better.

It started off as a normal day at Seaworld for my boyfriend's work holiday party. I remember saying to Robbie the night before "Do you know what tomorrow is?" when he said no, I replied with "12-13-14". I thought the date was so cool and that it was going to be a special day. I had been getting a cold and Friday of the 12th it started hitting me pretty hard. Come the 13th all I wanted to do was sleep but I love Seaworld and our tickets were already purchased so I knew we'd still be going. I mustered up my strength and was ready to go and have fun--knowing I could sleep all day Sunday if needed.

We were slow moving to get to Seaworld on time at 11:00am. I had read Robbie's work invite and knew they'd be starting drawings and prizes at that time, however I figured Robbie had a different plan when he seemed to be in no hurry to get there. We were about 5 mins away when our friends, Tyler and Jessica called to let us know they had just called Robbie's name to win a $100 gift card. Unfortunately, they only held it for 3 mins and we knew we weren't going to make it in time to get in and get it. Robbie was really bummed we missed it. But we arrived safely and got into the park and back to the event location in time for him to get some food still.

After a quick bite to eat and some mingling Robbie, myself and our friends Tyler and Jessica left to go see some shows and animals and walk the park. We even went on the Skyline ride which I had never done before. Although it was cold outside it was still so much fun! I remember thinking earlier in the day that Robbie was acting a little strange. Mostly because he was carrying a jacket which he never does and he was already wearing a sweater. But I just ignored it thinking he was probably bringing the jacket for me because I'm always freezing, it was colder that day and I was sick. Everything seemed normal to me as we went around the park with our friends. Little did I know...

Right after the dolphin show we made our way to Dolphin Point--the dolphin exhibit, which is my favorite place in the park sometime around 4:30pm. On the way we stopped for a grilled cheese at Tyler's request. I noticed Robbie seemed to be wondering and I figured he just wanted to keep moving. As we neared our destination there were a couple posters for the holidays. I stopped so Robbie and I could take a holiday photo in front of it. After the first photo Robbie was making his normal silly face, I got irritated so he said let's take another and he actually smiled normal for me. After snapping a photo of our friends as well we finished our walk to Dolphin Point.

When we arrived, I went right over to the tank to watch the dolphins swim, not paying any attention to the fact that I was alone. After a few minutes I realized Robbie and our friends weren't with me so I turned around and Robbie was walking towards me. I told him to come look at the dolphins and went back to doing just that. After a couple minutes I realized again that he wasn't beside me watching. I turned around to look at him and he was standing holding a little Tiffany box wrapped in a white bow. I knew exactly then what was going on but it was still so unreal. I stood up and he handed it to me saying "open it". I did. He had to help me. Once opened he took the ring box from me, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes and he stood up to kiss me. We hugged and he put the ring on my finger. I teared up and told him "You made me cry and I already can't breathe" (on account of a stuffy nose). He said he was so nervous and we were both shaking a little as he placed the ring on my finger.

Our friends captured every moment on video and camera for us. Some ladies that were near by yelled and cheered as it happened. A Seaworld worker came over seeing what was happening and asked if we'd like to meet a dolphin. Of course our answer was yes! She was able to take us back to meet one. We were able to pet the dolphin, feed her, and take photos all for free. Robbie said that part was not planned at all, we were super lucky to have that happen. It all was absolutely perfect!

It started off as a normal day at Seaworld for my boyfriend's work holiday party and it ended with the most magical engagement possible and my boyfriend becoming my fiance :)
